New Features : User accounts, avatars, claim feeds and extra connectivity

by Chris October 1st, 2008

Today we are launching a bunch of new features on FeedZa and I wanted to run through them here on the blog:

User Sign up and profiles

In order to participate in voting and comments, users are now required to register a user account. This only takes a couple of minutes and you can do so here.

Once logged in you can upload an avatar (small profile image), add other FeedZa users to your “friends” list and see your user history (votes and comments).

Blog owners:

If your blog has already been accepted into FeedZa, you can now claim your blog. Claiming your blog is very easy to do, we give you a link you must add onto your blog home page (inside the user account) and our robot will visit that page once instructed and confirm you are the owner of that blog (you can then remove the link from your blog).

Once completed, you can add additional features such as an avatar for your blog (can be different from your user avatar) and we’ll start displaying that next to your feeds. If you own more than one blog, you can add different avatars to individual feeds.

You can also add extra connectivity: links to other social web sites such as Twitter, Facebook and Flickr. These will also automatically be added to your feeds so that other FeedZa users can connect with you outside of FeedZa. Here’s an example:

Extra connectivity feature

If you experience any problems signing up an account, uploading an avatar or claiming your blog, please feel free to contact our Support desk. We have a really enthusiastic support team here that are eager to help.

Additional features coming soon!
